Amousia

(uh-MOO-zhuh) A noun, characterizing a state in which we lack inspiration. Derived from the Greek word αµουσος, meaning “without the Muses.” The origin of the word certainly expresses the meaning well. Amousia is a period during which we may feel that the Muses have abandoned us, or that we have lost our connection with them. Creativity comes slowly and arduously when amousia strikes. Artistic endeavors may seem like pointless work. We may even have difficulty deciding what we want to do.
