Oikopher

(OIK-uh-fur) A noun, denoting an itinerant being who, far from living out of a suitcase, travels with a full complement of household belongings. Inspired by the Greek word φερεοικος, meaning “carrying one’s house with one.” A sibling of mine lived as an oikopher for a while. They wandered about this country and others in a small camper equipped with all the basics for living. Merely living in a vehicle equipped with a full complement of household belongings is not enough; if I lived in a houseboat, for instance, but did not travel anywhere in it, you could not accurately call me an oikopher.
